With outstanding scores in several of its lines, Viña 7 Colores concludes 2023 shining in two significant national publications: the Mesa de Cata Guide and the Descorchados Fair.
Viña 7 Colores is a brand that enters the traditional world of wine with an atypical proposition. Its non-traditional image, the use of heritage grape varieties, and its innovative and unique blends make it an unconventional winery that stands out for its excellent quality and expressive, structured wines.
These characteristics were evident in the winery’s recent participations, both in the Mesa de Cata Guide from the national magazine La CAV and the Descorchados Fair, where it achieved remarkable results.
At the Descorchados Fair, Alzado 2019, the winery’s flagship wine, received an outstanding 95 points. Additionally, the Gran Reserva line earned 91 points for its Cabernet Sauvignon/Muscat blend, and 90 points for its Pinot Noir/Semillón and Carmenère/Viogner blends. These three wines from the Gran Reserva line were also highlighted in the Super Precio Tintos ranking.
In the Mesa de Cata Guide, 7 Colores Limited Edition 2019 stood out with an impressive 93 points. The tasting note highlighted its “spicy nose, blackberries, dry leaves, and black pepper. On the palate, it is juicy, firm, with medium tannins.” Alzado 2019 also received 93 points and was recognized for its “austere black fruit aromas, blueberries, a hint of sour cherry, and herbal undertones. Juicy palate, smooth, with rich acidity and good volume.”
Gran Reserva Chardonnay 2022, from the Casablanca Valley, earned 92 points, as did Limited Edition Chardonnay Viogner 2021, Limited Edition Red Blend 2018, and Limited Edition Syrah 2020. Gran Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 was awarded 91 points, along with Brut Charmat, Reserva Chardonnay/Semillón 2022, Reserva Sauvignon Blanc/Torontel 2023, Reserva Merlot/Malbec 2021, and Single Vineyard Red Blend 2021.
